Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire resides in a sleepy part of Montreal Island called West Island. The people who aren't familiar with this term tend to think there is a separate island in the west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to everything from Lachine west to the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel grew-up in Courtice close to Oshawa the city of Ontario. Her initial ambition was to pursue a career as an actress However, following a dramatic increase in size, her friends weren't able to dance with her. In an article written by the Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall when wearing heels. Once I surpassed my male counterparts then I stopped. Dancers who have been in the past often switch to acting, and in the case of Brugel, it was an urging by her teacher in drama. A teacher suggested that she take part in an audition for the annual school play. She was chosen to play the principal role in Anne of Green Gables after she auditioned for. The Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she completed her studies in Theatre and graduated with an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in 2000. Her career spans 20 years and she has performed in more than 60 shows that have screened on large screens and smaller ones. Her most notable role was as Rita (pictured below) in the television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the only Canadian actor in the season 1 of the series and not seen much.
